Rust, plumb color with a healthy head.
Aroma is not as big as I expected but it is quite nice. American hops present with good citrus quality. Some fruitiness that is either from the yeast or hops (or both), as well as rye spice.
Flavor mimics nose with a good balance of malt to support all the hops (60IBUs). The rye malt contributes to the hop spice and bite, but they don't run rampant. Malts are also playing a big role in the flavor. I really enjoy this ale's balance. Velvety texture and a sharp biting finish. Good stuff! Two glasses though and my palate would probably be fatigued.
Despite a higher IBU count than the Blue Collar Bitter pale ale (which I drank before this), it seems less bitter, I think thanks to the bigger malt bill. It's still definitely a bitter ale though. Yum!

This is a rye IPA served on tap at the brewery.
A - pours a reddish amber color with a one finger head that leave a ton of lacing down the sides
S - smells is big bold hops with spicy rye and caramel malts in the mix
T - opens up with caramel malts that give way to spicy rue malts. These are replaced by an onslaught of bitter grapefruit and some pine hops on the backend. Finishes bitter and spicy (in a good way). This is pretty solid - nice malt and hop balance with solid flavors on both sides.
M - medium body without much carbonation, watery overall
D - good rye ale. This is well balanced with a solid profile. For me this is a the definition of a sessionable beer.
