Consumed March 3rd, 2010 at the brewery.
Very pale beer with a thin white head. Lots of active carbonation; no surprise there, as the blueberries floating in the beer provide plenty of opportunities for nucleation.
Smells like blueberries. Huh.
Flavor is sweet blueberries virtually overwhelming the base of adjunct lager. Actually, that's a good thing, as the base beer is borderline flavorless, save for slight graininess and corn.
Mouthfeel is chewy. Well, that is when you chew the blueberries. Otherwise, slightly dry and a little prickly.
As with other breweries affiliated with Manhattan Beach Brewing, this seems to be their blonde lager with some blueberry extract added and a small scoop of actual blueberries floating in the glass.
Dreadful.

Pours a hazy golden color. Large white foam head.
Smells like ... overly sweet blueberries with a certain malt graininess. My wife commented that she could smell the blueberries across the table.
Perhaps too much blueberries for the base beer. And, unfortunately, a bit of the sweetness seems chemically or artificially added, as I usually have blueberries that sweet with a noticeable sourness to the aftertaste.
Not particularly drinkable. Pure novelty.

On tap Friday (10/2/09)
They put a scoop of actual blueberries in the glass, I thought that was interesting. The beer is murky as it leaches a lot from the berries. White foam, very little lace or retention.
Nose and flavor are almost entirely of fresh blueberries. Enjoyable but very one dimensional. Low bitterness and a hint of booze with a crispness to it. Not much else.
Its a novelty but worth trying once.
I asked to try the beer without the blueberries because I suspected that this was the Blonde Lager with a handful of blueberries added but when they poured a small sample I definitely tasted blueberry. Judging by how clear it was I'm guessing extract and not real fruit.
