Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: American IPA
Glass: Melvin 14-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $3.77 w/ 10 pct. off because of a mixed 6-pack (regular $4.19)
From: Bine & Vine Bottle Shop in Normal Heights (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Dec. 31, 2020
Consumed: Jan. 13, 2021
Misc.: Canned on Dec. 9, 2020
Bought this and a bunch of other stuff on New Year’s Eve. I mean a Beachwood IPA. It had to be good. Back of the can had “We tried to cram more hops in this expansive West Coast-style IPA, but it simply wasn’t possible! A big bang of hops and aromas have been achieved on a universal level.” Hops mentioned were Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe, Idaho 7 and Ekuanot with malts of American 2-row and Idaho Pilsner.
Poured a medium pale clear color with two fingers of frothy white head. Plenty of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Excellent semi-layered foamy lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled big Mosaic right away, followed by Citra and Ekuanot. Specifically Juicy Fruit, herbal, lemon, tea, floral, pine, grapefruit, mango, passion fruit and berry. Almost as good from the can with the addition of grass and mint. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste wasn’t quite as good as the nose. For mentioned hops in order Mosaic, Ekuanot, Idaho 7, Simcoe and Citra. Also bubblegum, pine, black pepper, herbal, tea, lemon, floral, mixed berry, mango, passion fruit, grapefruit, wet grass, mint and green leafy vegetable. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Spicy finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Another outstanding IPA from Beachwood. (Overall - 4.00)

Pours a semi clear straw color. Nice 2 finger white head. There's good head retention. Nice lacing on the glass.
The nose is full of pineapple, with a back up as a hint of mango.
Like the nose - lots of pineapple, and a hint of mango. Pineapple up front, mango on the back. Some pine flavor here. There's also a hint of something I can't quite describe. It is almost a creamy flavor, but that isn't quite right. I'm not sure how to describe it.
Creamy feel. The hops linger in my throat.
Very interesting IPA. I am glad to have had the chance to try it.

Clear yellow brew with average foam in the Duvel tulip. Crisp, sudsy, and sharp on the tongue. Aromatic with lemon and orange peel, followed by wood in the nose. Bright citrus and cedar notes. Slight malty sweetness. Substantial body.
Hops are listed as Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe, Idaho 7, and Ekuanot. A highly robust and blended flavor, not overly hopped but no particular flavor dominates. some orange, pine, dark greens, and a hint of pineapple. Moderate bitter aftertaste. From the 16 oz can prchased at Bine & Vine.

Yep. I can count on Beachwood to brew a beautiful West Coast IPA like you can count on Lance Armstrong to cheat at life. Yeah, this one straight slays like Lebron Crossing over that Tyler Hero dork.
