A full-blown “West Coast” IPA chocked full of sticky hop resins. Melrose is brewed with American 2-row malt and a touch of Canadian “honey” malt to accentuate the tropical and citrusy flavors of the Simcoe and Amarillo hops. This beer is generously dry hopped for an over-the-top aromatic experience.

Poured from a 16oz can into a Waterford IPA glass. Pours a slightly burnt orange with a beautiful white foam head of about two fingers worth. Pine and citrus on the nose. Some malt as well. Taste follows. Pine, citrus and orange marmalade but also that stale maltiness in the finish. It’s not bad by any means - not even close - but it distracts from how good this truly could be. That said, it’s still highly enjoyable. Full mouthfeel with a thicker maltiness up front followed by a nice carbonation. Solid west coast IPA.

Amber brew with plenty of foam in the Tripel Karmeliet tulip. Aromas of lime peel and orange juice. Sharp but not overly acidic. On the lighter side but quite a dose of alcohol. Plenty of bitterness in the aftertaste. Fruity and well-mannered hoppy brew. From the 16 oz can purchased at O'Shea Brewing. Dated 01/29/26.

Can from Uptown.
Clear orange with a dense, off-white head with excellent retention and lacing. The nose is a blend of mildly citrusy Amarillo, dank, earthy, mildly catty. Simcoe fruit and dank notes follow. Minimal malt. Bitter, pungent and quenching on the palate with the hop oils exquisitely expressed. Drying, bitter yet fruity and dank on the finish. Lovely.

Packaged on 4/16/24 - enjoyed on 5/12/24 - poured from a pint can into my Dogfish Head shaped pint glass.
Clear golden amber liquid with a fat fist of ivory up top. Soapy lacing, decent retention.
Potent lime aroma with supporting tropical (passion fruit, pineapple) and herbal notes (thyme, mint). Faint white grape and scallion/catty notes if you go digging. Low crackery malt.
Flavor follows the nose along with more honeydew melon, citrus, and dank notes. Malt asserts itself, leading into a dry refreshing finish with just a hint of mesquite honey. Excellent balance showcasing the complexity of Simcoe/Amarillo.
Medium-light bodied, zesty, moderately carbonated, ABV fairly subdued.
Well crafted, classic, and refreshing example of the style.

Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours a transparent yellow/orange with a small amount of white head. Large bubbles rising from the center of the glass. Nose is pine resin, dank, citrus peel, and a nice sweet layer on the back end. Some tropical fruit for sure. Very refreshing and crisp. The taste is bitter upfront. Citrus peel, resin. Very dry. Dank and funky. Grass, earth, leather, honey, pineapple, and a nice layer of green apple. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and, again, dry. Crisp and refreshing at the same time. Alcohol is well hidden. Overall a great IPA.

The pour into a pint glass revealed crystal clarity in a light amber color and topped with a paper white 1 finger head. Looks very nice.
The aroma was mild for me but that’s the normal thing, messed up sniffer. But I did get some spring grass like aroma which perplexed me. Smelled wonderful, just not what I expected.
The taste, where the rubber meets the proverbial road, is very good, piney and grassy and malty and sweet. Very good, but again, unexpected. Or maybe I just misunderstand what a WC IPA is meant to taste like. Maybe the honey mellowed it out for me.
The feel was as good as the looks, way too easy to drink and felt smooth and refreshing all the while. I think I could get into some trouble with a 4 pack of this as it doesn’t drink like it’s ABV -
Thanks Tim, this was really good.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours faintly hazy golden yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and laces nicely.
S: Mix of citrus with tropical and stone fruit, pine, some slightly dank herbal notes hiding in there, biscuity malt, and a little caramel sweetness.
T: Citrus, orange plus a little lemon and grapefruit, spicy pine, slight dank herbal notes, tropical and stone fruit really comes forward as it opens up, passion fruit, peach, and mango, biscuity malt, and a little caramel sweetness.
M: Just a touch on the fuller side of medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: After reading some of the other reviews on here I'm wondering how much this can has softened up in the 2 months since it was packaged up. It still tastes good, but it's more fruity and not the full resinous West Coast IPA I was expecting. Hopefully I can snag a fresher can in the future for a revisit, but for now this review will reflect how I'm experiencing this can.

16oz can from Hazels in Boulder. Canned: 08/24/20, consumed: 10/02/20. Paired with pizza.
A&S: The beer is a lively, transparent copper. The head is white head sticks around in a thin layer leaving some lacing behind. The aroma is herbal and grassy with a light hint of peaches.
T&M: Classic west coast IPA. Taste is lemongrass, slight pine resin, and light biscuity malt. Earthy and slightly bitter in the finish. reminds me of Pliny. Light and crisp not at all heavy or sticky. Very drinkable especially for something over 7% ABV.
Overall: Fantastic brew. I would highly recommend it! So far, this is my favorite I have tried from beachwood.

L:. Pours a brilliantly clear gold orange with a small white head and sheets of thick lacing around the glass.
S: Notes of pine resin, lemon grass, lemon rind, some kiwi, mango and orange with a bit of grapefruit in the end. Very awesome aroma and super inviting!
T: Bitter pine resin mixes with sweet orange, some lemon rind and lemon grass, some mango and grapefruit, very nice taste.
F: Quite prickly carbonation, which is a tad much, medium body.
O:. This is what an IPA should be, I recommend it.
