Pours a slightly hazy yellowish with abundant foam in the Maredsous glass. Lush, sudsy mouthfeel with lots of aroma. Smells of pear and fresh bread with a touch of pencil shavings. Taste is less sweet than many in this style, just some grain and minerals with a leafy hop note. Finish is lemony with an herbal note. Slight scratchiness in the aftertaste.
Overall, this is quite drinkable and a textbook example of the Saison style. Moderate yeasty taste gives it some refinement. Clean and aromatic. This brew has been around for years on tap and is back for 2021. From the crowler can filled at Blind Lady in San Diego.
