This IPA is earthy and bold. A dark amber with flavors of pine and citrus from Chinook, Pacific Northwest Centennial and a finishing touch of Amarillo hops. The combination of hops and Maris Otter grain give way to a harmonious resinous taste.

Poured from a crowler into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a lightly hazy, medium to dark coppery amber with a three finger off-white head with great retention and nice lacing. Aroma of biscuit and dry caramel malt, light citrus and piney hops, toffee. Flavor is biscuit and caramel malt, piney and lightly citrus hops, pine, grapefruit, lemon and light mixed stone fruit. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A flavorful, piney and somewhat old fashioned IPA. There is some biscuit character like early domestic IPAs based on English bitters, but with Northwest style hops. The hop bill is not that complex, but has a nice pine character with light grapefruit citrus too. I like to have this style of IPA every so often and this one tasted great. I liked what I sampled from this brewery and will try some other styles from here.

I had this beer on-tap at the brewery in a tulip.
Appearance: medium golden hue with a moderate haze and a thin finger of ivory foam atop.
Smell: toasty malt with kind of a muted, piney/herbal hop aroma. It’s OK.
Taste: quite light up front, with toasty malt followed by a really piney hoppiness and quite a bit of bitterness. Not bad; a bit old school, though.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: this thing is pretty bitter for a modern IPA palate - not that there’s anything intrinsically wrong with that, but you’ll want to be in the mood for that to like this beer. It doesn’t 100% work for me.
