really modern extra pale here, this is smart beer, i was impressed across the board here, lots of tasty and contemporary brews, dug this one a lot. nice to see this pour mostly clear, cool to see a new to me hop varietal too, adha 218, which i believe ive never heard of, along with idaho 7, citra, and chinook, nice combination, northwestern and agreeable to most palates, boldly dosed with only middle of the road bitterness, and just enough uniqueness with the experimental variety to make this stand out, real good and real drinkable pale. nice color to this, deep brassy golden with a lasting inch of head pure white, looks right on with some lazily rising bubbles. the nose is light strawberry, melon, tangerine, and grass, with fruit first and herbal freshness second, slight nutty character to the dry malt base, nothing at all to me from the ferment, a little oily and resinous but never heavy in any way, super clean and kind of fast smelling. i get some light onion in this, subtle for sure, a known thing from idaho 7 sometimes, and here it is, but the experimental hop has a light berry note i love, and there is a cool mineral profile that seems to make the hops pop. faint toast to the grain, straw and hay, very dry the whole way, and a little dank at the end, not vegetal but fresh enough to be almost green, lemon rind and some bitter pop on the swallow, great carbonation and a fast finish for a beer this flavorful. nice mix of hops, the chinook stands out too, real clean and drinkable. well done, i am excited about this place!

Light yellow-amber beer, unfiltered haze. A finger or two of frothy head. Nose is yeasty with a background of citrus fruit, maybe a touch of grapefruit -- most likely from double dry hopped with Citra and Chinook hops. Bitterness comes forward on the taste, adding a good depth of flavors. A nicely done APA from the new kid on the block over in Astoria.
