Bottled on 3/11/2023; consumed on 9/10/2023
Pours a stark black body with subtle brownish accents and capped with a fizzy finger of pale mocha foam, settling quickly to a blank cap, slight collar, and virtually no lacing holding with any longevity to the walls of the glass.
Aromas of fresh Oreo crumble and a healthy dose of creamy peanut butter make way for dark chocolate residuals as vanilla creme is tempered through a subtle, oaky balance.
Taste brings dark chocolate soft serve with a tinge of oaky char lingering through the front end of the profile as trailing edges of peanut butter phase through burnt Oreo over the mid-palate and residual vanilla creme lingers into the finish.
Mouthfeel offers a body on the fuller end of medium and minimal carbonation; a silky, sporadic sparkle of grit softens an overt richness through the mid-palate, with a steady dryness further appealing to balance in contrast on the back end.
Undeniably adjunct-forward, yet just shy of overdone, a minimalist barrel approach succeeds just enough in curtailing (and at times even amplifying) the predominant notions of malt-skewed, peanut butter-dipped Oreo.
