Gold Medal 2024 Great American Beer Festival
Our Tropical hop focused L IPA. As hop saturated as we can make a 5% beer without sacrificing drink ability. Over 4#/bbl of Krush, Nectaron, and Citra. Gummy Peach candy, pineapple, mango, coconut, grapefruit. Drinks like 6.5% when it’s only 5%… so you can have one more.

delicious and distinctive hazy ipa, and recent gabf gold medal winner, which says a lot, especially in this crowded category, good for them, i was impressed with all i had in here, and these folks appear to be doing a lot with a little. krush, nectaron, and citra in here, boldly dosed, and this is an example of utah law doing nice things for the consumer and forcing some workarounds from brewers, love this being so robust yet so low alcohol, they have a few that kind of go above and beyond what most others are doing within these constraints, and its super neat. i like how light this looks too, backlit pale yellow with only moderate haze and a tall frothed up white head, not messy or dense at all, and with high carbonation that stays the whole time. aroma is really fruity, ripe yellow peach, lemongrass, and subtle almost ripe red berry, more familiar pineapple and white wine notes here too, mostly dry hopped, high pungency but really without much in the way of apparent bitterness, and the flavor follows through on that. its got a big up front fruity kick, apricot and dried mango, tropical to me with a lot of layers, almost candied without being sweet, sort of crystalline, bright and fresh as can be, but its not oversaturated and this doesnt burn or go vegetal despite the intensity, and is actually drier on the back end, clean on the ferment, some lemon curd from the citra on the swallow, low bitterness, almost refreshing to drink, fairly light in body as these go, not a ton from the grain but this is balanced in a contemporary way and i dont wish for malt here in the least. really dialed in, one of their best we had, and that is saying a lot, everything here was great. put these guys on the map!
