a really clean and vibrant modern ipa done with a great mix of hops centered around krush, a current favorite of mine. i was super impressed with this place, some major flavor coming out of a tiny brewery, and they have a lot to be proud of in here. this one brings together unique fruitiness from a cool range of hops and keeps it light on the malt side, bitterness is middle of the road but this is the new school west coast type, a beer if immediate relevance well beyond this little ski community. golden honey color and not exactly clear under an inch of airy white head, not a hazy, but not filtered either, it does not drink like it needs additional refinement. the nose and taste do the same thing, impressive how dry hoppy this is but how the flavor keeps up with the aroma so effectively. notes of kiwi fruit, ripe lychee, crushed pineapple, and muddle lemongrass, the krush and its hyperboost leading the way but i get coconut strata notes, gin-like botanical character, a little pine and lemon cleaner, near neutral yeast here it seems, flattering but out of the way malt backing, and overall nice balance where all the fun hop elements mingle more or less unmolested by the other elements. definite coconut, umbrella cocktail, green table grapes, juicy melon, lime candy, lots of hops here but not overdone, and bitterness stays restrained for how robust it is overall. medium body, good carbonation, off dry to finish with a real pleasant hop recall at the end of each drag i take off it. the krush defines it, but its well supported by the other varietals, and on the whole this is really good, different enough to stand out, and takes full advantage of the best of whats available right now in terms of hops and hop products, absolutely delicious.
