czech dark lager of the highest order here, served on side pull at the source, what a great beer a dispense for this, roasty but not bitter, layered but not coo complex, nuanced but drinkable, gorgeously well carbonated, lagered to perfection, a fine beer for all seasons, really pleased with this, and with this place in general, top to bottom excellent during our recent visit. very deep brown color on this, moderate body, pure cream on top, a stunner. the nose hints at craft cola, charcoal, and cocoa, with nutty and dark bready nuance, which is all there in the flavor too, but i get a bit more of the yeast in the taste, doughy, crusty, light smoke but really not overly deep and dark, some noble type hops in play but mild, and this isnt bitter. its super well integrated, authentic as they come, and it warms up well. its smooth on the palate, sort of understated and quick, the lager yeast and the pace of this are both ideal, better than we almost ever see from american efforts, hard not to be impressed. a little finishing sweetness but its snappy still, this has great balance, dark chocolate and good coffee as it warms, seriously earthy, overall a near textbook example of the style with elite drinkability. these guys are on it! a style a love but almost never see at this level, side pull is brilliant!
