Appearance: A deep mahogany brown body, with faint ruby highlights before a strong light, presents. This is crowned by a massive, dense and extraordinarily persistent tan head. Thick and chunky Belgian-style lacing presents, lining an inch of the glass wall, and extraordinary in its own right. Below the surface, clumps of fat bubbles adorn the glass wall.

Aroma: The aroma is quite interesting, with a mix of bitter cocoa, roast coffee, and a surge of strong herbal hops.

Taste: Begins with a strong note of cold coffee and roasted malt, with a backdrop of strong herbal hops. There is a bit of smokiness in the middle of the taste, and some later bitter cocoa and a hint of charcoal. Finishes with a lingering note of cold and bitter coffee and a bit of bitter cocoa.

Mouth feel: Smooth and very pleasant, dry and full.

Drinkability/notes: A very well-made example of the style, perhaps an exemplar of the style. One wishes it were easier to obtain.

Presentation: Packaged in an eleven point two ounce brown glass Euro-style longneck bottle with a pry-off crown, served in a La Fin du Monde tulip.

Decent Irish stout in the Aldi advent calendar. None of the flavor notes are overpowering, overall enjoyable. Would like to see ABV a little higher(4.5%). Definitely different after having an imperial. :)

333 ml bottle with a 28 August 2021 BB date stamped on the neck.
This was poured into a snifter where it displayed an attractive, clear, reddish-brown body with a thin but semi-durable beige head.
The aroma is more hop forward than average for the style but tasting reveals plenty of dark malts.
Feel. Smooth, medium-full body with proper light carbonation.

Poured from bottle into tulip, 1+ finger light tan head, so so retention and lacing. Get black in the glass, no light passes thru. Big roast on the nose, chocolate and coffee. Taste straight up follows the nose, big smooth roasty notes, cocoa powder, coffee, and then more chocolate in the middle. Finish is dry and crisp with the chocolate left on the palate. This is a damned good Irish Stout.

Aldi has done it again. They brought this very good stout out at less $1.50
per bottle.
Very traditional, UK stout. My first taste is light but rich in the mouth. I will be back for more.

Get good Irish Stout at a great price. Great taste and mouth feel for the lower abv. It is possible to find gems at Aldi and this is one of them. I will get this again.

L: black as coffee
S: delicious licorice aroma
T: bitter upfront mellowing into its sweet cocoa
F: exceptional mouthfeel, thin coating of bitter-sweet.

I agree with previous reviewers. Very good craft brew at a reasonable price.

Bought at Aldi's.

Very, very impressed with this value-priced but still craft offering. Quite dry, very toasty and roasty. Not much aroma. Very pretty in the glass, deep brown near black with faint ruby twinge when held up to the light with a tan head.

Very thick, full, smooth mouthfeel.

I hope to enjoy this one again. Very, very impressed.
