Had on tap at Free Roam while visiting Texas; then repeated with crowler pint can at home in MD.
Stellar sour. Huge plumy head that lingered more than a few sips, thin dissipated to lacing and halo. Rich woody auburn with accents of plum and ruby to light. Gorgeous.
Nose was lightly lactic tart with big time bramble bush black berries/ Raspberries , malt biscuit touches. Soft; pleasant, inviting.
Taste was wonderful. Tart and full berry fruit forward. Hinted wood and light vanilla …though not told it had been barreled.
Body is so clean and crisp. Bright carbonation but body was foam feeling… not soda pop/ macro beer. Yes!
While a kettle not spon… it comes across like a classic continental sour style you’d grab on roads to or inside Brussels. Also makes think you’d want to try their Berliner Weisse.
I’m recalling stops at Russian River, Side Project, Sante Adarius; JK… it was that good.
Now trying to see if this was a one off or might be future available. That good.
