Taster at Brown Beard. Dark, clear brown, lacks the perfect head of the weissbier. Light weizens notes with some toasted malts, nutty, sweet. Good all around.

this is without question the worst of the five beers we had in here, and in fact the only one that wasnt real tasty. its messy and unrefined, sweet and under carbonated, the yeast seems stressed and incomplete in its work, and the heavy body is unbecoming in this style, they just need to go back to the drawing board on it, or perhaps it was rushed for the open, it kind of seems like that, weird with how good all the others were, this felt really out of place. deep amber to mahogany in color, some cloudiness to it, and very little head. the nose and taste are sweet and malty, sort of a long boiled richness, less german than anticipated to my, more caramel and melanoidin and it toasted character, and it really lingers long on the palate. its objectively yeasty, but without the developed esters the style usually sports, instead its slightly chemical and soapy, the carbonation is lacking severely, and overall this just hasnt come together for them. they are new enough where they can still get a pass for a miss, and this was their only one, but im surprised they let this ride. will try it again if it makes a comeback, it has to improve from here...
