perhaps the worst beer ive had from a local brewery since ive lived here. look, i know these guys are new, and i think its cool they are trying some ambitious stuff, but this should never be served, complete homebrew disaster, and the first pint i can recall not finishing out of respect at an establishment like this, i felt bad, but this beer is unforgivable, i really hope they get it figured out or they arent going to last. it always blows my mind when beer this bad gets served, like you obviously love beer enough to open a brewery, so you know what a half decent lager tastes like, then you have to realize how not close yours is to half decent, and make the call to scrap it, they have to know right? well, i hate to be harsh, but this one was a total bummer, the ferment is shocking, this is chemical and soapy, acetaldehyde, caprylic, some real heavy off aromas and flavors, bleach, gym socks, all of it. its also dense and raw for a lager, has a clashing finishing hop note, and is under carbonated, but thats all secondary to the fact that whatever happened during fermentation rendered this undrinkable. i cant get it off my tongue, and try as i might to choke through this one, i cant do it. they have some great stuff in here, the weiss was solid, the coffee beer was fantastic, and its neat they are coming out of the gate with some clever recipes, but they have to nail the basics for that stuff to really resonate, and the fact that this is so far off is a bad sign. hoping for the best here, and i will keep trying to support them, dont want to sound too negative about a new business, tons of promise here, but they have to get this fixed...
