A crowd-pleasing IPA named after the most crowd-pleasing family of birds. This latest addition to our IPA flock is double-dry-hopped with the very best (Citra, Idaho 7, Eldorado) and drinks like a pillowy cloud of smooth tropical juice.

Hazy straw colored with lemon, orange and hard candies in the nose. The taste is a wallop of citrusy, tropical hops with a floral edge. Restrained bready malt provide balance. The mouthfeel is full bodied with loads of carbonation. High bitterness and a dense wall of fruity hop flavors in the everlasting finish.

A fantastic IPA with a wonderfully aggressive hop profile.

Pours a fair amount of foam, maybe 1 fingers worth. Some lacing left behind. Classic citrous IPA smells to the beer.
Slightly hazy with a straw yellow color.
Taste is moderately good. Some lemon and citrous zest. Not really bitter or hoppy.
Can be a crowd pleaser if you like IPA beers. Not as bold as some of these other IPA's out there. Could be a positive or negative thing depending on your tastes. Doesn't really stand out too much but definitely does the job and kills your IPA craving. I'd recommend it for IPA fans.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned, from the Ducks World Winter IPA Pack, bought from my favourite LCBO at The Roundhouse Centre in nearby Windsor. My sixth beer from this Toronto brewery, and second for 2025. Exquisitely delightful.

473ml can served cold into a beer mug. LCBO purchase for around $5 CDN. Canned May 23, 2024.

Appearance - Rather hazy golden straw colored beer with a finger of fluffy white head on top. Modest staying power and small ring of lacing left behind.

Smell - Loaded with citrus with mango, pineapple and lychee leading the way. Almost too sweet, but the intense aromatics are nice.

Taste - Fairly sweet and fruity beer again pineapple leading the way and plenty of mango involved too. Malt bill is kind of weak behind the sweet hop forward start. Lychee and other tropical sweet fruits play into this as well. Some bitterness does shine in after a couple sips, making this brew even more balanced.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation a bit thinner than most of this style and while juicy, has a touch of a thin finish.

Overall - A rather tasty and sweet, well brewed NEIPA. The nose and flavors are very good, just wish there was a tiny bit more texture to really ramp this up to the next level.

I bought a couple of cans at the LCBO in Ontario Canada 473ml at 6.3%.
Nice picture of a Duck on this Can. love the name Ducks IPA.
Poured into the glass with a 2 finger head hazy golden color with good carbonation leaving a lace as you drink it .
Fresh mango and tropical fruit flavours very smooth with a low bitterness level.
Very enjoyable IPA would definitely buy it again.
Cheers

can from LCBO - pours a hazy pale gold with a 2 finger white cap....intense aroma; floral, exotic fruit, citrus over sweet malts....medium to light bodied, prickly mouth feel from carbonation..hoppy but mild mannered.....hop blend dominates the flavor with sweet malts riding beneath the hopping, notes of grape peel, citrus and floral esters, gives way mid palate to light maltiness....long wet finish goes dry and bitter...hides its alcohol well....decent IPA if it has a fault it seems a tad watery.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Jun 13 2024 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a hazy straw yellow colour, stirring up one finger of loose, soapy white head that sizzles off over the next two minutes or so. A tight collar and filmy cap live on, with a modest smattering of spotty lace painted onto the glass - looks normal enough. Enticing aroma of tropical fruits, including mango, passion fruit, honeydew and watermelon; I'm also getting hints of mandarin orange, lychee, peach juice and pears.

A deliciously juicy DDH IPA. I'm tasting mango, pineapple, melon and peach, with hints of wheaty, bready pale malts, lemon and orange also coming through. A little bit of hop resin and oversteeped tea bitterness on the back end, reverting back to juicy citrus & tropical fruit in the aftertaste; moderately acidic, with minimal hop burn. Medium-bodied, with low-ish carbonation that gently prickles the tongue, contributing to its smooth, somewhat pillowy-soft texture. Good drinkability - I could drink another glass, but two servings would be plenty on any given evening.

Final Grade: 4.03, an A-. Ducks is the first Burdock IPA I've had the pleasure of reviewing, and I must say, I can't find much of anything wrong with it - in fact, it might be the best hazy IPA I've tried so far this year. Of course, this can is only two weeks old - extremely fresh, especially for something purchased at the LCBO, which I'm sure helps considerably. Highly recommended for fans of juicy IPAs with restrained bitterness; I'll be buying more of this for as long as it remains in stock locally.

Can: Poured a hazy yellow color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrusy hoppy notes with some light tropical floral hops undertones. Taste is also a good mix of citrusy hoppy notes with some tropical juicy citrus hops notes and not much residual sugar and mostly dry finish. Body is pretty full with good carbonation. Easy drinking NEIPA with great drinkability.

interesting yeast used to make this a cross style, more like a hazy hopped saison. Good and rare changeup on the style and drinkability. From the source.
