At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. Canned January 28/25. My 15th beer from the Toronto, Ontario brewery, and 1st for 2026. Brazingly admired by Sundae the cat...

April 11, 2026: At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 355mL in a pint glass. Accidentally purchased at my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. Canned December 3/24. My 2nd time drinking this, and 1st for 2026. Ludicrously loved by Sundae the cat...

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Jun 10 2025 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a foggy pale yellow colour, kicking up less than a finger of loose, sudsy white head that sizzles away within sixty seconds, give or take. A thin collar and filmy cap remain on the surface; modest lace deposition - looks ok so far. Mild aroma that includes citrusy notes of lemon peel and orange, in addition to grainy pale malts, melon and floral hops.

It's a serviceable pale ale with approachable flavours and fairly low bitterness. I'm getting lemon, melon and grainy, crackery pale malt sweetness, with hints of citrus peel and melon rind coming through by mid-sip. Floral, grassy hops tie things together at the end, with lemon peel, grain husk and grassy bitterness fading into the aftertaste, which trends off-dry. Light in body, with moderately active carbonation that remains crisp and prickly right down to the last couple of gulps. Good drinkability - I could drink several of these in a row, at least in theory.

Final Grade: 3.69, a B grade. Sun Bird is a more than decent hazy pale ale that didn't trigger any strong feelings within me: it definitely didn't blow me away, but I don't think there's any major problems here, either. Worth a shot if you enjoy lighter hazy pale ales, but overall I think this might be my least favourite Burdock brew, of the dozen or so I've tried so far. That being said, it still has its merits, and I'm sure I'll revisit this at some point.

I bought 2 cans at the LCBO in Ontario Canada.
Poured into glass with a 2 finger head leaving a lace as you drink it
Smooth and tasty but very low bitterness level makes it easy to drink.
I would definitely buy this one again
It was more expensive then the other beers tho

Pours a thin head of foam. Light golden yellow color that is hazy and yeasty. A little hoppy and floral note aromas but not too much. The taste is nice. Very easy to drink. A little bitterness. A little bit of floral and hoppy characteristics to it. Light lemon zest. Not as strong or as bitter or floral as many other IPA/APA's I've had but maybe you like it a little more mild. I prefer a little more character and boldness to my drinks sometimes. Still a solid beer all around.

Poured a 473ml can into a pint glass. a one finger bubbly white head on a cloudy dark lemon. the head diminishes to a layer. Fine patchy lacing.

A citrus hop smell. tastes of piney citrus hop up front. fruity. A lingering mild hop finish.

Medium body and carbonation. Overall an smooth and well balanced American Pale Ale.
