Now dropped to 4.3%ABV and still stocked by Morrison's supermarkets as the only other reviewer stated back in the naughties. Same Owl's face on the front label though.

My 500ml brown bottle was best before 9 Oct, so it's 3 days too old tonight!

The label claims "This nocturnal brew is sure to catch you by surprise. Guaranteed to arouse your Fifth Sense - Taste". Well lets see: I'm about to pour the bottle into a standard UK pint sleeve (a 2002 CAMRA fest one from Boston in the Fens).

Good looking brew, clear and bright, an amber colour with an orangey hue: the head was white, but didn't hang around to be introduced, so it loses a half point.

Floral, fruity hop aroma with bicuity malts just below the surface.

The taste is crisp, sharp and hoppy, the malts calming it all down after the initial hit of hops. The hops then take over again as the mouth begins to dry.

Well balanced, with a hop lead and finish, a fine beer, pity so few have reviewed it.
