Crafted with German malted barley, classic noble hops, and our house lager yeast blend. Single-decocted and naturally carbonated. Notes of lemon peel, spice, honey, pine, and freshly baked bread. Named after Hortensia (1st century BCE), who was a famous orator during the end of the Roman Republic. She is known for defending women’s rights in front of the senate of Rome.

I sampled this beer poured cold into a 16 oz dimple mug at the brewery. I had options for pour, including mliko pour if I had wanted that. Pretty cool for a new brewery to offer options.
The beer arrives in my mug with a fairly dense creamy, bleached white head of about 2 cm. This foam sticks around as a sturdy surface layer for most of my sampling. the beer is a bright clear golden hue in my mug.
Aroma is some light biscuity malt and a bit of spicy and grassy hop note.
The first sip reveals a light body with smooth texture and crisp drying finish. The carbonation is fine and fairly gentle on my palate.
Flavor is similar to the nose, but the biscuity malt is more mild and the hops come in on the finish and linger after each sip. Never any hint of the ABV, which suits the style and me just fine.
I enjoy the beer and its drinkability, the malt flavor could be a little bolder, but otherwise, a fine pils. id buy again and would take home in cans if it were an option.
