Hydna is our Czech-Style Pilsner. Crafted with 100% Bohemian floor-malted pilsner malt, a blend of classic noble hops, and our house lager yeast blend, it is crisp, soft, and incredibly refreshing.
Double-decocted, naturally carbonated, and lagered for over eight weeks, we taste notes of candied lemon, honey, freshly baked bread, and crackers.
It is named after Hydna (lived around 480 BCE), who was an Ancient Greek swimmer. She is known for swimming over ten miles in order to sabotage the Persian fleet during the Persian invasion of Greece.

Sampling a 16 oz can poured cold into my pils glass. Picked up at the brewery today. The beer pours a light straw color from the can, but rests slightly more gold in my glass. A fluffy bleached white head foams up 3 cm and overtops my glass a bit. This fades to a sturdy surface covering gradually as I sample the beer. I get some scattered lacing as I take sips from the glass.
Aroma is very grainy and crackery notes with a bit of a floral hop character. I also get a little bit of a honey note on the nose. no hint of any abv on the aroma.
First sip reveals a light body with very fine and tingly carbonation and a smooth texture. Easy drinking on the physical traits.
Flavor starts with some grainy notes and again I get some honey sweetness. The profile rolls to a bit of herbal tea hop notes and some lemon, the tea note lingers on the dry finish.
Never any hint of the ABV and the beer drinks super easy and yet is also fairly robust flavor wise. glad to have tried this one from my new local brewery.
