Collaboration with Tox Brewing.
Crafted with German malted barley, specialty German malts, Adeena hops from Crosby Hops, and our favorite kölsch yeast strain, this ale is soft, crisp, and incredibly drinkable. Single-decocted, naturally carbonated, and lagered for over eight weeks, we taste notes of dark honey, bread crust, candied grapefruit, and caramel. It is named after Britannicus (41-55 CE), who was the son of the Roman Emperor Claudius and step-brother to Roman Emperor Nero. Locusta (the name of the collab brewed at Tox's New London Brewery) famously provided the poison to Nero, which Nero used to murder Britannicus in order to secure his power.
