a wet hopped amber with locally grown citra, cool beer, neat to have fresh hops in an amber, definitely not the norm, i feel like breweries have gone away from richer malts with these to showcase fresh hops more directly without grain interference, but i like this approach too, more of an old school balance, well made beer, i had a good time and enjoyed the liquid in this little spot! relatively clear medium amber brew, a little light on the head and on the carbonation but not way off, and this is light to drink anyway with the low abv. the aroma is subtle on the hops, amber first and fresh hop beer second for sure, but thats not a bad thing, the grain is nutty without being sweet and its earthy and well grounded, probably nice on its own but kicked up with the fresh citra, more herbal than fruity to me in this context, and that is also true in the flavor here, where the hops pop all at once and the rest of it is more traditional amber, some increased bitterness as it warms and maybe a faint vegetal element coming out, simple overall really, and perhaps without as much personality from the citra as hoped for, but it does present as fresh to me, and that takes a basic amber to a new place, good enough for a weekday afternoon! light bodied despite its overt maltiness, subtle yeast character is not out of place, less bubbles than it wants, but on the whole a pretty solid little brew, small timey in an endearing way, herbal side of citra that i didnt expect, faintly oily, neat idea with decent execution.
