Canned 2 days' prior to review. Poured from can into a Willi Becher glass. It pours a murky, muddy, tangerine color with a big, foamy, ecru-colored head and thick, long-lasting lacing. Its nose is fragrant with notes of citrus, berry, and stone fruit. It was a promise of things to come. Regarding the taste I can only say, "wow"! It's soft and plush with pineapple, orange, lime, peach, pear, and red berry, with mild, clean bitterness throughout. The flavors just pop. The hop bill of Elani, Kohatu, Nectaron, and Rakau is inspired and the tastes mesh beautifully. It's complex but very flavorful. The mouthfeel is creamy but surprisingly lite for its 8.5% ABV. You have to be careful drinking it. Overall, Into the Wayside is stellar - it's well conceived and executed and a pleasure to drink.
