Canned on 3/21/2024 and reviewed 3 days later. Poured from can into a Willi Becher glass. It pours an opaque, bright orange with almost a finger cap of bright white foam and swirls of lacing. The smell is big and fragrant with pineapple, tangerine, lemon, and other tropical fruits, along with some vanilla sweetness. The taste pops with tart lemon, lime, and grapefruit, balanced by sweeter notes of nectarine, mango, and passion fruit, and augmented by a dose of pine sap and spicy herbs. I've never encountered a hop bill of Riwaka hop kief, Motuere, and HBC 586 but they work well. This is a delicious ale with a touch of District 96's snake fruit characteristic. The mouth feel is plush and creamy with pleasant carbonation, and it drinks verily easily for the 10% AVB. Overall, Spiteful Snake is a gem of an Imperial IPA and represents the best work of Autodidact and D96. Both brewers should be proud.
