Imposing Will is brewed with copious amounts of Garston Riwaka and Nelson hops for a truly expressive beer that we have been calling “pretty.” Beautiful aromatics of fresh tropical fruit lead to wonderfully oily compounds of lychee, passion fruit, and lime zest all coming together for an all around gorgeous presentation of New Zealand hop goodness.

Reviewed 3 days after can release. Poured into a Willi Becher glass. It pours an opaque, dark tangerine color with a half finger cap of creamy, milk-white foam and solid film of lacing. It smells of lemon, lime, grapefruit, and tropical fruit, along with white wine and fresh cut flowers. The simple hop bill of Riwaka and Nelson delivers big flavor. The Riwaka is the star contributing a burst of tart citrus and tropical fruits. The Nelson Sauvin adds its signature white wine grape but it blends completely with the other tastes. There is a solid, malty base with some zippy spice notes. This ale is moderate in body and carbonation, and the 8.1% ABV gives it a nice punch without heaviness. Overall, Auto has done a fine job with Imposing Will. The taste is big and bold and most enjoyable.
