A grist of pilsner, oats, and wheat set the foundation, then we hopped this one up with the aforementioned Mosaic and Egger’s Special X hops. Notes of diesel kush, orange candies, and sliced guava.

Reviewed the day after release. Pint pour on draught at the brewery. Served in a snulip glass. It pours a dense, pastel lemon-orange with a modest ecru-colored head and thin film of lacing. The smell is bright and fruity lemon, orange, pineapple, tropical fruit, and a whiff of white wine. Its taste is best described as a big, tropical punch with tangerine/orange, pineapple, and red berry, and earthy, herbal notes. It has has really nice depth of flavor. There is mild, clean hop bitterness throughout with almost no burn. The mouth feel is superb: plush and creamy with mild carbonation, and it doesn't drink like 8.5% ABV. Overall, Shadetree Mechanics is another excellent DIPA from Autodidact. My only regret is that I missed out on the cans - which sold out in a matter of hours.
