Our last new beer for a little while is our new batch of Pawpaw Power. This mixed culture saison fermented with over 1# per gallon of Pawpaw from Integration Acres sold out of all the kegs at this years Ohio Pawpaw Festival We held back part of the batch for any who couldn’t make it.
This years iteration spent more time developing in barrels and is more sour than last years accentuating the mango-like flavors of the Pawpaw.

This one was suggested after I mentioned a paw paw wheat from Jackie O's that I liked. As it turns out, this is night and day from that beer. And maybe it's a fine example of the style, but sour beers are not my thing and this was $13 I'd have been better served throwing down a hole. I'll rate it 3 across the board but it's a 1.5 for me.

16.9 ounce bottle, no dating on it but I think it was released over the past couple months more or less. Looks like it's bottle 239/240. Served in a Teku, the beer pours a slightly hazy gold color with not quite an inch off-white head that didn't stick around for too long. Not much lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like pawpaws, bready malt, funk, oak and some citrus. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some mango flavor. Definitely has a big tart kick! Mouthfeel/body is light, it's smooth and easy to drink but has a low amount of carbonation. I liked this one, but wish the carbonation level was higher. Worth a try if you get the chance!
