Purple Hands - a sour barrel aged mixed culture saison with mulberries, juneberries, raspberries, blueberries, and grapes sure has a lot going on. This beer is special to me as it’s a blend of the fruit my helpers picked with me over the spring and summer, Purple Face also would have been an appropriate name. This farmhouse ale is jammy, tart, and a bit tannic adding some wonderful depth.

12 ounce bottle, bottle number 229/252. Served in a Teku glass, the beer pours a slightly hazy reddish/purple color with about a half inch off-white head that didn't stay around for too long. Not much lacing, either. Aroma is nice and fruity, the brew smells like raspberries, blueberries, citrus, red grapes and just dark berries in general. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, with the berry flavor being both sweet/jammy and tart, along with some tart citrus. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's smooth but the carbonation is low. I did like this one but to me the low carbonation hurts it, but with that being said it's worth trying as it is pretty flavorful!
