Saison with Pomegranate. Growler from Marius bottle release 2/1/2014. Reviewed same day. Served in a wine glass
Appearance: Golden yellow color with less than a finger of a white head that settles to a thin ring. Not much in the way of lacing. Body is very hazy.
Smell: Saison yeast, coriander, honey, pear, slight grassy character.
Taste: Big yeast character with grassy, citrusy orange, and pomegranate notes.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied and refreshing. Fine carbonation on the low end of medium. Finishes mostly dry with just a light sweetness and a mild lingering bitterness.
Overall: The pomegranate was extremely mild to the point that it's easy to miss if you don't know its there, but putting that aside, this is a really good saison that packs a lot of flavor for such a low ABV.
