Pours a clear pale gold, some of my cans had a lot of fizz on them, almost overflowing from the can. A lot of lemon, a little bit of black pepper, not so much sour but glancing in that direction. Light and crisp mouthfeel.

Pours crystal clear at first but picks up a slight haze with the dregs. Bubble bath magnitude head, maintained for a long while, falls to a nice cap, decent cling.
The smell is very subtle, a little o' this and a little o' that. Slight spiciness, slight lemon, yeasty, some extremely mild funk, bready.
It drinks well. There's a yeasty flavor, some mild funkiness to it presumably from the foraged yeast. Light bready malt, light lemon. Then things get fun with....other things. Herbal spice, clove maybe a touch of anise, peppery builds on the finish. Juicy fruit gum. A white wine must note, the citrus becomes more like lemongrass, there's a decent floral note. A green herbaceous taste washes through. Lots going on yet it feels simple, like it should be just the way it is, dare I say homey...yeah, I dare.
Light, crisp, soft. Dry and spicy on the finish. Hefty but brief bitterness in the midtaste.
Overall, it's a nice saison. The bitter kick seems a bit out of place to me - not a deal breaker just not expected. It's kind of on the calm side of the style except for the yeasty funkiness.

16oz can purchased from the fridge as a single from a local bottle shop for $4. No canned on date.
Look: Pours a rich golden color with a very faint haze. The beer wanted to come out fast as soon as I opened it. A huge, very rocky white head gradually subsided to a very thin layer.
Smell: Spicy, herbal, and citrusy aromas. Smells of yeasty, crusty bread notes too.
Taste: That indeed tastes like a saison. It's light, bright, and citrusy up front. The finish is very spicy and dry - lots of clove, herbal, and peppery notes. There is a nice amount of acidity that works well here. I poured the sediment after drinking most of the beer and the finish has become very grapefruity and pithy - notes of grapefruit seeds, rind, and pith. Very interesting.
Feel: The mouthfeel is light and crisp and it has a nice softness to it. It's on the light side of medium bodied.
Overall: This is my first Forest & Main beer. I have been wanting to try something from them for a while, and I was excited to see this available as a single. This is not my favorite style of saison, but I can definitely appreciate it though. This would be an excellent table beer.
From the website:
A beautiful saison brewed with barley and @DeerCreekMalt malted spelt, hopped with Cascade, Hersbrucker, and Hallertau Blanc, and fermented with our 2021 Foraged Yeast Culture. We find notes of that classic Saison-Juicy Fruity gum thing, ethereal pear blossoms, white grape jam on white bread toast, lemongrass tea, a vanilla ghost, and a bit of the joie de vivre. Put this one in the sun for a few minutes in a clear cup and really have some fun!
