16oz can purchased directly from the brewery as part of a mixed 4-pack for $20. This beer was released on September 29, 2022 so it is being consumed just before the 1-year mark!
Look: Pours a beautiful light copper gold color with perfect clarity and two fingers of fluffy, khanki-colored head. Lots of small bubbles steadily rise up the glass. There was a bit of settling in the bottom of the can - after pouring the rest into my glass, the beer attained a soft haziness.
Smell: Nice aromas of toasty bread, caramel malt, light citrus, earthy hops, and peppery notes. I also get a floral soapy note as well as a beach/ocean scent on the nose. If I was given this beer blind, at this point I would probably be thinking Marzen or Festbier.
Taste: It's tasty. The flavors on the palate are similar from the nose; it does taste like it's a lighter version than your average Marzen or Festbier (which makes sense because this beer is only 4.4% ABV). It's a very well-balanced lager. Up front, it's toasty and malty but not sweet. The finish is dry with a mild bitterness that lingers long with notes of tangerine rind, pepper, earthiness, and woodiness.
Feel: It's light to medium bodied with a touch of chewiness. The mouthfeel has a nice softness and a subtle chewiness to it.
Overall: This is my first Franconian-style lager. I'm a big fan of just about everything that Forest & Main makes. It's too bad that I didn't get to drink this sooner, even though I think that it has held up just fine in my beer fridge. This is a really tasty beer for the start of Fall. Hopefully they brew this one again soon and I'll get to drink a fresher version of it next time. Cheers!
From instagram:
A beautiful little cool weather lager, brewed with 100% German Munich malt, hopped with choice Hersbrucker and Hallertau Select, and fermented slow and cold with our favourite lager yeast.
This one hits all those perfect cool weather toasty vibes, with notes of fresh baked crusty wheat bread, ethereal anise hoppiness, snappy crackers, apple/pear strudel, a whiff of lemon and cinnamon, and a nice hug from a clean old man.

NO can date
Pours a large frothy creamy 2.5 finger head with great retention, wispy lacing, semi hazy semi clear amber color
Nose is on the lighter side, some toasted malt with a touch of caramel sweetness, a bit of sweet fruit, blond straw malt
Taste is also very light, very little malt, watery and thin, a little toasted malt and light lager malt straw note, hint of caramelized fruit, some iced tea herbal hop with med bitterness, dry finish brings more spicy hop bitterness
Mouth is thinner and a bit watery like, higher frothy carb
Overall another meh beer, waaaaay to light in every category except higher than expected carb and a bit overpowering hops, the hops and bitterness would be fine if there was any malt backbone but it's very watery
