Open Skies - 4.8% New Zealand Style Pilsner.
We brewed this fun hoppy lager with Pilsner and Wheat malts, and hopped it generously with Motueka and Mittelfruh.
The first aromatic notes jumping from the glass are reminiscent of a quality lager with a lime wedge, but then open up into more NZ hop character of gooseberry, grape, and citrus, ending in a doughy clean lager malt finish. Total crusher.

Sampled via pint glass at the brewery on a Sunday in early November. Both the body and head retention on this hop-forward lager was remarkably impressive, which is what stuck out to me the most about this brew. Additionally, ‘twas a brighter shade of straw than what I was anticipating.
I was debating between this and the ESB as my only beer to be enjoyed here, and I was happy with my choice. Go Birds!
