Heaps Normal does marketing well. But they really are selling a hybrid life-style: the laid-back partying of Aussies merged with No-Lo brewing. For example "Too good to be wasted" on the can has a double meaning for both the beer and the drinker. the name "Heaps Normal" also positions the No-Lo Lifestyle as normal, if that's what you want or need. This micro also does huge Good Guy stuff, giving away 1% and interviewing environmental activists. So for all this, I give them excellent Overall Hugs.
However for Another Lager, not so much praise. While it has a pretty pale, the foam is way weak. Smells are only slightly above average for the style which typically needs more aromatic hops to make-up for the malt flavour subtracted from the No-Lo process. Tastes are decent until I hit the after-taste in the finish; spoils the show. Fell is almost medium-mouthed, but more bubbles would help. No-Los are hard to get right. But in time, Heaps Normal will taste normal.
