Our brewers selected and matured this special edition of 2014 Super Nebula in a single twelve-year-old Elijah Craig bourbon cask and then conditioned on freshly roasted organic cocoa nibs from Ecuador and Nicaragua and a cold extraction of premium coffee beans. The beans, Benevolence blend and single origin Ethiopian Yirgacheffe were hand roasted by Mud River Roasting, and selected for their unique dark chocolate, toasted nut, and blueberry profiles.

Bottle consumed on January 31st, 2016.
Beer is black and still. No head or carbonation.
Aroma is strong coffee and even stronger bourbon.
Flavor is balanced between muted coffee and mild bourbon. Not much beer character on the palate; maybe a little dark roasted chocolate malt, but not much else. Disappointingly simple and the adjuncts overpower rather than enhance the beer.
Mouthfeel is a little on the thick side and as flat as tap water.
Overall, a real disappointment, but certainly drinkable.

500 mL bottle poured into a snifter.
Appearance - Black. Almost no head, but more than the recent batch of Super Nebula.
Smell - Coffee. Sharp bourbon. Rich fudge. Not bad.
Taste - Sharp coffee. Overpowers everything. Dark chocolate malts. Boozy and bourbony finish.
Mouthfeel - Heavy. Low carbonation.
Overall - The flavors are good, but it just doesn't come together. Too many problems and imbalances.

massive thanks to rathakem for always killing me with block 15, enjoyed from a block 15 snifter.
pours a watery black no had, but yes carb (was a bit worried after episode vj, which was excellent but flatter than...well my comparison was going to be not pc so I will keep it to myself ;)
not much coffee at all on the nose, lots of barrel. taste is also barrel heavy, little watery, very silky. again nit much coffee. good beer, but in the world of barrel aged stout little hot but nice drinker. I wouldn't knock yourself or hunting it down.

Subtle coffee. Needs bubbles, but tasty.
