Farmhouse Ale Fermented in Oak Barrels w/ Pineapple & Guava

Our Spontaneous Consequence program features beer spontaneously inoculated with resident flora in our wild cellar's coolship, followed by spontaneous fermentation and extended maturation in oak barrels, resulting in complexity and acidity that reflects our brewery's unique location.

*Tropical Farm 2017*
Brewed with a rustic farmhouse grist, Tropical Farm was fermented and matured in rum and neutral oak barrels with pineapple and guava, producing a tart, tropical and funky ale.

Received as an extra in a trade. Shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice hazy golden hue with a thin one finger white head that fades to leave light wisps.

S - Aromas of really nice barrel notes, light vanilla and maybe a little rum. Excellent pineapple aroma with really nice coconut barrel notes. Really really nice guava notes. Finish is nicely tart.

T - Taste is similar to the nose. Excellent guava paste notes, good barrel notes, nice tart pineapple notes. Really good tart finish with a solid oak barrel presence.

M - Mouthfeel is very brightly carbonated but not distractingly so. Not flemmy either, really nice!

O - Overall this was a very very nice beer. Excellent fruit notes and really good tart finish. Flavour explosion.

Pours light hazy, gold. Foamy, medium, Whitehead that is short-lived.

Smells very tart, acidic, pineapple, tropical and yeast Funk Galore.

Taste tart pineapple, lemon, mango, earthy and peppery funk and unripe Apple. Finish is dry with yeast and tart fruit linger. Medium body and fizzy higher carbonation.
