Our DAB Lab series focuses on fresh, resinous, and vibrant hop-forward ales, each brewed with supercritical CO2 hop extract in addition to select hop varieties. Mo$aic is a single-varietal exploration of one of the most multi-faceted hops around. It features Mosaic extract in the kettle, alongside Mosaic hops packed into the whirlpool and dry-hop like a billfold flush with Benjamins. Enjoy a surprising diversity of hop notes that includes berries, dank herbs, tropical fruit, pine, citrus, and hop money.

Look: Murky light orange with a frothy pure-white head that swells up and settles quickly to a lid, leaving a sticky lace webbing the glass
Aroma: Pine, Cannabis, blueberries, passionfruit, papaya, sugar-coated strawberries, and sweet malt notes
Taste: Starts off with a punch of blueberries and pine sap that is quickly followed by a huge wave of Cannabis terpenes – wet herbal notes, diesel, and some fruitiness. Tropical fruits round it out and closes with berries and pine returning to the forefront along with a slight bite
Mouthfeel: Full, soft throughout, medium-high carbonation, and fairly soft on the finish though with a very light dryness
Overall: This is tasty stuff. I’m not a hazy IPA fan but this series has usually done me well as they have never been too heavy/chalky on the feel, always have a noticeable bite, and are even slightly dry on the finish – and this one continues that trend. I love Mosaic hops too and this is totally a showcase of Mosaic through and through. Delicious to try and I’d buy/try this again

Light amber, hazy pour. Rich nose...pine, floral, fruity. Persistant head, solid lacing. Solid hop profile, no excuses here, even the single hop brew comes out with a well-layered taste. Surpringly light bodied, medium dry, good carbonation. This is one of the best DAB Lab brews we have had.

A: The beer is rather hazy yellow in color and has slight hints of amber hues along with a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left a thin collar around the edge of the glass and some lacing down the sides.
S: Moderate aromas of mango are present in the nose along with notes of stone fruit and hints of pine.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that the flavors of pine are a bit stronger towards the finish. There is a moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA does a very nice job at showcasing the aromas and flavors of Mosaic hops in the smell and taste.

16oz Can

Huge thanks to Felicia for this one! This guy is pretty damn good looking. The body is deep golden, a touch darker than your polished chains, consistent. Streams of carbonation can be seen bursting to the surface from a few points on the glass through the slightly hazy body. The foam is pure as the driven snow. Two fingers in height on the pour it never falls below a thick crown. The drinking and settling being done leaves behind thick, chunky lace.

I could smell this guy the second the top was popped and even more so once in the glass, a couple feet away. That Mosaic is potent and leaning dank. It's got that big forest floor dankness with a mota driven herbalness. There is a surprisingly large blueberry note, probably about as big as I've come across in a Mosaic hopped beer. All this sits atop a sturdy, complimentary doughy malt base with a drizzle of caramel. Soft, peppery booze sneaks in.

The flavor doesn't quite have the ferocious dank-centricity of the nose. As a matter of fact, it leans more toward the tropical side of Mosiac. It still has a solid herbal aspect but there's a fruit bowl of ripe pineapple and sweet/spicy papaya. That peppery booze cleans up the middle in the most complimentary of ways. The hop profile stands tall but there's certainly enough malt to keep it from running wild. That malt lends a sturdy base of dough and caramel. This is good beer.

7% IPA with this kind of feel hits my sweet spot. It has some body off the bat, a tick over moderate, but the carbonation is lively and lightens that up immediately. The finish is dry, the alcohol dries it up even more, and the bitterness is accentuated. The dryness is what sets this one apart though, it also boosts the drinkability.

Block 15 really doesn't do anything wrong and especially when it comes to hops. This beer is a showcase of what is possible with Mosaic, a lot is possible. There's depth and a quality malt base. There's a touch of booze and Sahara Desert dryness. I could drink this stuff all day long. Thanks again, lady friend!

From the Pounder can into a Samuel Smith's perfect pint glass results in a cloudy yellow body topped by a fluffy white head that sticks around for the whole time leaving lots of sticky lacing.
Aroma is pungent tropical fruit and wet grass, maybe a hint of astringency.
Taste is all about the tropical fruit, somewhat sweet with almost no bitterness, I wouldn't call this an IPA, more like a pale ale, lingering sweetness, almost cloying.
Soft carb
Overall, not nearly as good as Sticky Hands, the lack of bitterness and slightly cloying sweetness is for me, off-putting. Had I known this was an NEIPA I probably wouldn't have purchased as Sticky Hands was sitting right next to it in the cooler and was a few dollars less. Oh well, live and learn.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a hazy, medium golden amber with a two finger white head with great retention and thick lacing. Aroma is citrus and dank hops, lemon, grapefruit, mild tropical fruit. Flavor is pale malt, citrus and piney hops, lemon, grapefruit, melon, green onion, pine needles and light mixed tropical fruit. Finishes with moderately resinous piney and dank hop bitterness. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A great vehicle for the mixed character of the Mosaic hop, with clear citrus and pine notes, but also hints of tropical fruit. Great herbal hop finish with lingering bitterness. It's been a while since I've been able to pick up one of these Dab Labs, too long really. Nicely done, as expected.

Pours with the type of vitality that I love, all lively and vibrant. Big blast of mosaic from the second i crack the can, and it only gets better. It's dank, with a light nose full of cantaloupe and hints of tropical fruit. Bracingly dry, with a strong green hop presence. Completely unexpected hints of sage and white tea stand out, make this a fun one . Tasty and delicious.

Can dated 10/30:
A slightly yellow-orange lean to the golden body, there's a nice unfiltered haziness below a light snow-white carpet that drifts at the edges of the beer’s surface. Lightly sticky in nature, it leaves streams and spots on my glass.

Nose has a guava and peach like sweet/tartness with a little “old rind” funk in the mix. Just a bit of grapefruit and tropical nectar seep in as it warms.

First sip starts with a dry biscuit malt and a strong tingling sensation from the somewhat assertive carbonation. Not as fruity as the nose, a dried herb and fruit rind bitterness actually grab my senses as the bubbles relinquish my palate. A little bit of peach fuzz - the feel more than the taste comes out along with a bit of a honey malt/cantaloupe (with rind) note near the end of the taste.

This beer seems to show both the bitter herbal and the sweet fruit aspects of the showcased hop. Each aspect gets the spotlight in the taste, brought together in the middle of each sip. The malt plays along nicely, too.

16oz can served in a pint glass. Don't see a date on it. Bought it yesterday at Hop & Hound.

Pours a slightly hazy light golden with a perfect large head that collapses slowly leaving coarse lacing. Prettiest beer I've seen in a while. Smell is tropical fruity + pine or lemon zest.

Taste is right along the aroma with a strong citrus rind bitter finish.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and dry. This is a very good beer.

Can from New Seasons in Lake Oswego.

A hazy orange with a dense, off-white head with good retention and lacing, this looks solid. The nose opens with a big blend of fruit - there's grapefruit zest, pine, berries, even a little peach and mango. While juicy, this clearly isn't an NE IPA, as a noticeable bitterness is perceived, even on the nose. There's also a softness present, mildly oat like, that's tempers the hops. The palate opens moderately bitter and quite juicy, with a mouth-watering blend of pine, grapefruit, Valencia orange, peach and a touch of blackberry. The bitterness is clean and mildly resiny. Drying, moderately bitter on the finish with a lingering fruit character, this beer is medium-light in body and moderately carbonated with fine bubbles. Malt character is minimal, though there is a mild sweetness that complements the hops nicely. As it breathes, it does take on a mildly soapy note. Very good stuff.
