A foeder conditioned blend of golden ales, Golden canary marries a bready malt base with bright acidity, earthy funk, and mild barrel character from a portion of the blend maturing in oak barrels for 1-3 years in our wild cellar. open now for notes of stone fruit, green apple, and citrus zest—or let it mature further to allow the wild character to develop complexity over time.

375 ml bottle at share. Golden pour with a small white head. Tart aroma, fruity, grassy, brett. Taste is heavy on the funk, light citrus, white grape, rounded out by oak barrel.

Poured into a wine glass. Beer is mostly clear, not a lot of color, but some lemonade color with a pinkish tint. Tall head that dissipates quickly. Aromas are of tart lemon and cherry, with just a hint of funk. Taste is a straight up wonderful blend of sweet and sour, with white grape juice and lemonade on top of sweet tart candies. Sour but not puckering. Mouth feel is just right. Overall, a great semi-sour ale from Block 15.

2014 vintage. Thanks, Brian!
Clear amber pour with a thin, white head with good retention and minimal lacing. Nice nose, a blend of lactic and acetic acid, fruity, tart, vanilla, bright, some oak. Mild musty sweetness, damp basement. Mildly doughy. Palate opens fruity and sour, dominated by acetic acid, bright and fruity. Moderate lactic acid, a little yogurt like. Mid palate is sweet with honey and doughy toast. Mildly sweet and moderately acetic on the finish. Funk is minimal on the palate. Quite delicious.
