A velvety smooth white milk stout with some pleasant aroma emanating from the roasted coffee and cocoa nibs that lay within. Maybe this isn't the type of beer you'd have during your bowling league nights; but it's certainly the beer you'd have once you got home.

12oz can. Date stamp on can bottom is 'CANNED ON 02/07/23'.
Medium amber colored body, with lots of suspension bits. Khaki colored head, and then a skim and ring. Leaves behind strings of lacing.
Aroma of toasted malts with coffee, chocolate, and vanilla.
Taste is high on the artificial scale. Heavy dose of vanilla, with sweetened coffee and chocolate.
Syrup mouth feel. Very sweet. Very good carbonation.
Totally a nod to a White Russian, very cocktail like. The suspension in the body creates another way to make a beer appear cloudy.

Received from @BigIronH in the NBS BIF #16. Canned on 2/11/2022. Poured into a tulip glass. It pours a cloudy, copper-orange color with more than a finger of foamy, ecru-colored head that dissipated quickly leaving a thin film of lacing. The smell is primarily caramel and nutty char. The taste follows the nose. The caramel and vanilla is big but the sweetness is balance by bitter coffee grounds and burnt nuts. I'm also tasting some milk chocolate. I'm impressed by the balance. Its mouth feel is moderately thick and creamy with lite carbonation and it's surprisingly potent at 8.5% ABV. Overall, His Dudeness could be gimmicky but I think it all comes together. I don't see many Imperial White Stouts and I'm glad to have tried this one.

Clearly not retired. Pours a murky gold/amber with a short-lived cream head. Decent leggings. Aroma is feint, slightly burnt coffee and vanilla. Flavor follows the nose, a touch sweet. Feel is medium bodied with adequate carbonation. Overall, I'm a fan. wouldn't want this to warm up and I'd not drink two back-to-back.

Aroma is coffee and dark chocolate bitterness. The flavor is coffee, fruit, malts and a mildly sweet/acidic finish.

Golden-orange in color, and topped with a dense off white head. Suspended in the liquid seem to be flavoring elements, which give it a somewhat cloudy appearance. The nose is rather clean, and not at all dominated by any off the ingredients in this one, much less by off-flavors, and that fact alone is noteworthy. Light vanilla and cocoa, but no coffee to speak of.

As in the nose, there are no singularly overpowering flavors on the palate, whether it be from lactose sugar, vanilla bean, cocoa or coffee; All of these different flavors contribute to the overall flavor, balanced expertly against each other. Still, there is a sweetness here which I can only describe as “Candy-like”, and which adds a heaviness to the drink (and yes I know it’s a stout) but this detracts from the overall drinkability, rather than improving it.

Again, stout-like it most certainly is (and although I have never taken to the white stout style, I appreciate the style more as a strong ale in the manner of an American style barleywine), and it’s certainly strong and warming, and leaving nothing to be desired in the area of a full-bodied ale.

As it warms the enhancing flavor contributors (vanilla, cocoa, coffee) continue to play off one another and add definite interest to the drink, while at the same time fending off the mighty thrust of the lactose sugar.

An ambitious and interesting brew, to be sure, but it’s simply nowhere near my wheelhouse these days.

As stouts go (white stout or traditional stout for that matter), this is perfectly in line with the Pastry Stouts of the moment, and I can’t help but wonder a little just how long that moment will last.

At the nexus of fast food and fine dining there lies the nefarious thing known as a “garbage pizza”, with pretty much every topping available to the pizza maker being added to a pie for an all-out assault on the culinary senses of the dining participant.

To be fair, I have never gone in for that sort of approach, and with His Dudeness I sense a very similar approach has been taken.

Maybe with the next iteration they’ll add cherry flavor and marshmallow extract?

Pours golden yellow, nearly see through, with a healthy head of foam and lots of carbonation. Aroma is bright, tinged with vanilla. Taste is light, lots of vanilla and a faint hint of chocolate. This brew is clean and goes down nicely.

Careful man, there’s a beverage here! The look is copper, with a light bowling pin white head. The smell is whole milk, cold brew coffee, Luxardo sambuca, vodka, and St. George Coffee Liqueur, garnished with cocoa powder. The flavor is chocolate, coffee, milky, roasty stout, with a touch of vanilla. The mouthfeel is like having a zip-front sweater from 1972 delicately placed in your mouth, but with more carbonation than you would expect. Overall, this beer...abides. If you do not agree, yeah, well, you know, that’s just, like, your opinion, man.

Not sure if my expectations were too high or if the bar keep over hyped it, but this beer fell a little short. Hopefully it's a peek at a future beer, pre-barrel perhaps?
