October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to help raise awareness we brewed this kettle-soured Raspberry Mango Ale in very limited quantities, our first pink beer! Expect this beer to be refreshingly tart and crisp, like eating a fresh raspberry. More than 250,000 women and 2,500 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. Early detection and treatment are critical to survival. Consider supporting your local breast cancer treatment facilities, like The Angel Fund at Ascension in Stevens Point, providing funding for mammograms for women who could not otherwise afford them.

This beer boasts a hazy pink appearance. Intense tart raspberry aroma. Palate abounds in tart, fruity flavors. Agreeably vigorous carbonation. Refreshing and delicious.

Poured from a can into a tulip.
Pours hazy and violet-pink with limited head and scant lacing.
The aromas are dry raspberry and funk. Simply and solid.
The flavors are as simple as the nose. The brew provides plenty of raspberry flavor, with just a hint of citrus and tropical notes, but it is a tart, acidic flavor, with very little sweetness--and that is just fine. Some yeast and funk are present but only in the background.
Medium-light bodied, the carbonation and acidity combines to provide an excellent tart drinkable brew.
It may be a one-off benefit beer, but it's a solid brew in its own right.

A: The quite hazy pinkish red in color. It poured with a short off white head that quickly settled down, leaving some wisps of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of raspberry purée are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and is dominated by flavors of raspberry purée. There is a light amount of sourness, which helps to mask any of the sweetness from the fruit.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and rather tart on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I liked how this beer wasn't overly sour and had a lot of raspberry flavors without any sweetness whatsoever. It had a high amount of drinkability.
