1st review of this beer on BA. It was the second beer I had at Central Waters that day.
Pours a substantially hazy dull mixture of orange, peach and copper color. Put out a hearty hoppy orange like aroma.
Taste was similar, I had the expectation this would be sweeter than desired, but the brut aspect of the beer really dried /out the back end and mouth feel. The blood orange puree didn't dominate the beer, was truly complimentary. The hops still were ample and led the way in tandem with the blood orange. Stayed crisp instead of overly sweet. Was a big upgrade from just the brew crew brut pils that was just a water + alcohol delivery system. But it was better than the likely next review, the tangerine neipa.
The appearance of this beer will make you think no way could it have a dry mouth feel, but you'll be surprised like I was. Orange and hops tag team were they dare to approach balance of bitter and sweet. Most fruited ipas fail to impress me, but this was one of the better ones I've come across.
