As a bonus to picking up a couple hundred dollars worth of barleywines Central Waters had this for sale as well. Score! 22 oz. bottle split with the wife.

Central Waters Twenty Four Coconut Macaroon flashes the base plus a light touch of the fabled cookie. Hard bourbon, vanilla, light coconut, molasses, roast, with a finishing sharpness that might be oak or hops. A little sweeter than the base. Stout 2016 feels: heavy but not stifling. I would happily swill more than half a bomber of this.

Adds a nice if subtle dimension to the anniversary brew. Excellent beer.

Poured pitch black, not super viscous but not thin either. Aromas heavy of bourbon; even when the beer is chilled, it hits you quick. There is also subtle element of coconut throughout, nothing heavy like sun lotion but you know its there. The taste is pretty much similar; huge bourbon notes with flavors of chocolate. Coconut is kind of an afterthought. If you never knew it was added, you may not have noticed it. Medium bodied with ample warmth throughout. Central Waters has been creeping into pastry stout territory with these annual releases. Fortunately for this beer, its not overly sweet or sticky and it definitely does not fall short on the bourbon. If it had just a little more coconut, honestly, it would have been amazing.
