Brewery folk know about Briess Malted Milk Balls. They arrive in unassuming little brown drawstrung bags, and disappear at astonishing speed once opened. We adapted these crunchy little joy snacks into a smooth yet robust milk stout. Enjoy it to the last drop- we won't tell who ate the last Milk Ball in the bag.

8 oz pour on tap at the Milwaukee taproom. This smells like cigarette smoke and doesn't taste much better - very earthy, slightly astringent, and if there's any malted milk ball flavor it comes across as astringent and/or with a sour twang. Not recommended at all.

only 6.6% abv when i had it at their killer milwaukee location, what a sick spot! love whoppers, and this is a nice little ode to them, cool that its not even all that sweet, which i am immediately stricken by, usually these candy beers get stuck to my teeth and sit heavy in the belly, but not this one, it almost presents in part like a dry irish type, more earthy and ashen and roasty than middle malt focused richness, super dig that as a base, and the integration of the malted milk balls is nice, its flavorful, they are identifiable in this for sure, but its not sugary, so good. even if there is some lactose in this, its more of a texture than a flavor thing to me, smartly proportioned. this is near black and creamy looking in the glass, but not crazy viscous. the chocolate character and the darker roast go great together, and that interior malted milk ball goodness pops in the center of this, its like grain candy, so fantastic, but it doesnt linger, gone with a little old world yeasty character on the swallow, some balancing bitterness from the darkest grain in here, and a smoothness of mouthfeel that really makes this feel regal. i like it not being so strong too. it was blast checking this place out, what an epic beer list. ive been a huge fan for a long time, so it was surreal to get to drink so through so many fun and high quality beers in here! elite top to bottom!
