mediocre pils on tap at the park city squatters location, apparently some parts of the utah brewers cooperative have been moved around, sold off, repurchased, rebranded, and now its falling under this salt lake brewing name, some real confusion there, and it seems like a lot of work for beer that isnt any better than this, if this didnt exist, the world would not miss it, i promise you that, must be profitable though if folks are fighting for it. anyway, this seems sort of half cooked, definitely under attenuated, grainy and grassy, sweet like the ferment isnt done, and while it does have some old world pils malt character to it, its a pretty generic and pedestrian brew that doesnt even really hit the drinkability mark, kind of a bare minimum for this style most of the time, at least in my book. very light yellow, watered down looking even, clear because its light but not because its actually clear, like there is a kind of frosted look to this, a below average head and decent carbonation. smells and tastes crackery, pils malt based for sure, and somewhat authentic there, with some obvious lager yeast and soft herbal springy hops in play, if they let this ferment to dry it would actually be alright, but with the sugar thats left it just feels incomplete and wrongly proportioned, especially being this light overall. it stays on the palate awhile too, the wort-like flavor lingering, a shame. this presents as kind of amateur, not sure which one of their locations made it, but the quality seems like its not worth the effort. so many better pils types in the local market down there, this was disappointing. i was excited to check in with some of these beers with the new name and all, but i did not come away impressed...
