Sampling a cellar temp 473 ml can poured into a snifter. I picked this beer up at the brewery about 2 weeks ago and its been in my cellar since I brought it home.
The beer pours a clear amber color with some deep garnet highlights when I hold the glass up to a light source. A dense creamy khaki colored head foams up about 1 cm from the pour. this foam fades to a sturdy edge layer that sticks around through the sampling.
Aroma on this is some caramel and toasted grains with hints of grassy hop notes in the background. Overall the nose is very mild.
First sip reveals a medium to light body with smooth to slightly thin mouthfeel. I also get gentle rolling carbonation. Pretty easy drinker on the physical traits.
Flavor is some caramel and toffee and then a bit of butterscotchy note, that seems diacetyl - esque. I had cans of this fresher (the night I bought them) and dont remember any butterscotch. Hops arent present on the flavor profile, nor is any hint of ABV.
This is a simple beer that is easy to drink, but could have a little more hop note and Im not sure about the butterscotch. Ill probably pass on this one if ever in the area again.
