A dense, creamy off-white head holds four inches for several minutes before gradually settling over a hazy, blood orange beer. An opaque curtain draws over the walls of a Pretentious Glass Company pub tulip.
The aroma is initially sweet, with artificial strawberries that are reminiscent of Starburst candy. Rhubarb pie quickly takes center stage, adding mild sourness.
The flavor is fresh and tart, with mild sweetness and bitterness being a full step below. The rhubarb pie carries forward, and the strawberries are now fresh and fully expressed. The whole flavor profile gradually fades with the finish.
A light body and soft cashmere texture. Carbonation is light and prickly. Alcohol is mild, as expected. The finish is accompanied by mild astringency.
I found this to be a pleasant summer beer that likely would feel right at home during a Sunday garden party. Thanks Dave.
