May 2008: 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Brewed for Integrated Bottling Solutions by Ventnor Brewery. ABV is 5.0%. Amber colour, big and lasting head. Moderate aroma, a little fruit, some toffee. The flavour has some malts, toffee and a moderate fruitiness. Acceptable hops in the finish. Not too bad.

A Ventnors beer bottled by the Integrated Bottling Solutions (IBS) company, coming in a 500ml brown bottle, bottle-conditioned. BBE OCT. 08, served cool in a straight imperial pint glass.
A: coming in a translucent pale copper hue, with a dissipating off-white creamy head and moderate carbonation.
S: fragrant and piney leafy hoppyness and a slightly musty yeastiness upfront on the nose, backed by a firmer hint of nuttiness at the back.
T: fairly sweet nutty and malty with a sour-sweet hint of dried dates and raisins, gradually an intensive (but not stark) flow of leafy hops almost like black tea and a faint tinge of roastiness come through slightly tangy finish, not much bitterness lingering behind.
M&D: mildly spritzy in texture, pretty refreshing and medium-bodied for a 5% premium bitter. The balanced flavour ensures that its an above-average bottle-conditioned beer, but nothing exciting offered here.
