Neckstamper's debut cask - a Best Bitter. Colour - chesnut, aroma - caramel, taste - nutty malt, notes of orange and stone fruit with moreish bitter finish. This is a collaboration with Charles Farah hops.

From the engine at East Tap, Best Bitter is as you'd expect: a modest but enjoyable ale. Its foam and amber bod were sufficient to invite interest. Smells were only slightly above average as I detected mostly sweet malts. Tastes were balanced and there was a gentle lingering finish brought on by hop balance. Medium-mouthed and very soft.

While their are some similarities, most breweries have a different story. Neckstamper has a very different story. They start with the arcane explanation of the brewery's name and, then, several other arcane brewing slang terms from a few centuries back. And that's most of their story. The rest is similar about the trials and tribulations of buddies starting a brewery. Anyhow for being more different than most, I give Neckstamper very good Overall Hugs.
