Im sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my pils glass. Picked it up at the brewery last summer while in Geneva, NY.
The can opens with a fizz and foam starts to flow out onto my table. Uh oh. definitely spill an oz or two through this.
Beer pours a light hazy straw color with a large frothy bleached white head, fills my glass with 75% from the pour. the foam fades slowly leaving clingy spongelike lattice on the glass sides.
Aroma on this beer is a little grainy malt and some chalky mineral notes with a bit of grassy hop note. Not overly complex, maybe a little lemon rind in there too. Decently balanced nose and fairly mild overall.
First sip reveals a light body and smooth texture with very fine and tingly carbonation. The beer drinks very easy on the physical traits.
Flavor is some grainy and husky malt with definite lemon notes and very dry slightly bitey grassy hops. the dryness encourages me to take another sip and this beer is just fine, even after the slight gusher had me worried.
Pretty decent beer all around, the hazy appearance puts me off per style a little, but I find it a solid enough drink and I love supporting environmental causes by drinking beer!
