Perfect for the sunny days in our lives! We offer this traditional bright farmhouse Saison full of citrusy notes, as an ode to the Samaritan in all of us! It has a nice bit of noble hop character and tartness on the finish.
Samaritans Saison has also become a vehicle for us to give back to the local community! We have partnered with several local non-profits near & dear to us in order to raise funds for causes that make our beautiful, beer-loving Bend, a better place.

On tap at Monkless in Bend. Poured a slightly cloudy, golden yellow color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sudsy lacing. It smelled of spices, yeatiness, caramel and wheat. Sweet caramel taste with wheat, yeast and spices.

Draft at HomeBrewStuff. Bright, cloudy golden pour with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is malty, grassy, cardamon. Taste comes in savory, zesty, grassy, malty. White pepper notes.

rarely do american made clean saisons turn me on, there are a few notable exceptions out there (blackberry farm comes to mind), but i like the funk and the rustic character, and this is very much on the other end of the spectrum. where their samey yeast works so well in a lot of their other brews, it leaves something to be desired here, it just tastes like a belgian golden ale, and i remain adamant that the two are not the same, and that no matter how much wheat malt you put in it, it doesnt make it saison unless it has a meaningful fermentation profile outside of the generic belgian or french cultured ale yeasts. i will credit this for being a well made beer, all the parts are in place, but the yeast just doesnt take me there. some light peppery notes, hints of white wine and pear, and these were present in most of their other beers. drier than a lot of them though, so the yeast ends up flavoring the beer a little more overall, which is cool, but its the same profile. subtle lemon in here is nice, and i think the beer is solid, its just not what i am looking for in the style. call it a belgian golden or something and it would be on point. a place like this, so dedicated to authentic belgian beer, should recognize the need for an additional house yeast or two, hopefully that is in the works moving forward. its the only thing holding them back right now from what i can tell...
