Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours hazy golden yellow with a frothy cream white head that settles to a light layer and laces nicely.
S: Lots of juicy citrus, ripe exotic, tropical, and stone fruit, blueberries, resinous pine, floral notes, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.
T: Big bright juicy citrus, tangerine/orange, lemon lime, and hints of grapefruit, ripe exotic, tropical, and stone fruit, guava, mango, peach, gooseberry, white grape, and blueberry, plus hints of melon, pineapple and passion fruit, a little resinous pine, floral notes, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.
M: On the fuller side of medium body, mild to moderate carbonation, soft on the palate, creamy smooth with just the right amount of carbonation prickles to keep it from getting too thick.
O: This is up there for the best citrus juice forward IPA I've ever had. The Citra and Mosaic do a lot of the heavy lifting, but the Nelson adds some really nice depth. Nicely balanced and super smooth, it's easy to see why it's already racking up the medals. If they keep this one in the rotation, maybe even make it a flagship, I foresee a lot more hardware in its future.
